Great River RoadThe Great River Road was established in 1938 as the national parkway of the Mississippi River. Follow the green Pilot's Wheel road signs that mark its route nearly 3,000 miles through 10 states.
The Mississippi River forms the 3rd largest drainage basin in the world. Its system of 29 locks-and-dams stretches 669 miles between Minneapolis, Minn. and Granite City, Ill., controlling nearly 2/3 of the nation's watershed.

The RiverPark Museum in Tunica, Miss. gives an awesome presentation on river wildlife and offers an impressive opportunity to walk along the river and experience its natural beauty.
