Passport and Visa Information

If you are visiting from a foreign country you must have a valid passport in order to enter the United States. You may also need to obtain a visa. Visit www.unitedstatesvisas.gov for more information.

Time Zone

The majority of the region is on Central Time. The eastern half of Kentucky and Tennessee are in the Eastern Time Zone.

Mississippi River Fun Facts
Great River RoadThe Great River Road was established in 1938 as the national parkway of the Mississippi River. Follow the green Pilot's Wheel road signs that mark its route nearly 3,000 miles through 10 states.
The historic lumber town of Grand Rapids, Minnesota is also home to actress Judy Garland. Her childhood home is open to the public.
Favorite Places Along the River
The St. James Hotel in Red Wing, Minnesota is a must stop even if you aren't staying overnight. It has its own shopping mall and two great restaurants!

Favorite Places Beyond the River
In downtown Louisville, KY, the Muhammad Ali Center features an orientation theater, media stations and interactive exhibits. Follow Ali through his life and career by taking a take a boxing lesson in a ring with the assistance of his daughter via video or exchange cultural ideas on-line to help encourage a better understanding of world diversity.
